Preparing the Commonwealth's next generation of STEM scholars through high impact K-12 initiatives
Many more students are interested in pursuing STEM-related courses if given adequate support and opportunity.
With support from valuable partners like Kentucky Department of Education, National Math and Science Initiative, Code.org and many others, AdvanceKentucky® works with districts across Kentucky to provide professional development, mentoring and student recruitment to increase enrollment and success in STEM classrooms. We focus our efforts on critical areas that provide opportunities for students as they transition through their academic career.
Our mission is to work with local, state, and national partners to dramatically expand student access to and success in rigorous coursework, particularly among student populations traditionally underrepresented in these courses, enabling students to pursue advanced college and career opportunities. To help achieve this goal we provide support in the following critical areas
Access to algebraic thinking and concepts in the middle grades has long been a milestone toward students taking advanced coursework in high school. Access to Algebra aims to increase participation and success in 8th grade Algebra, especially for students traditionally underrepresented in advanced courses.
