The AdvanceKentucky Laying the Foundation Summer Institute is a 4-day training that brings together teachers from grades 6-12. Utilizing elements of the National Math and Science Initiative’s Laying the Founding Program, teachers will experience an intense, content-based, pedagogy-driven, teacher training. The training takes place in vertically aligned content groups led by content-expert trainers who are experienced teachers that understand the challenges of the modern classroom. Trainers will demonstrate how to design and implement activities and tasks to infuse any existing curriculum with rigor. The hands-on training moves beyond what teachers should present in the classroom to how they can shift students to more advanced levels of thinking and learning.
